A prayer and iftar mahfil was held in Dimla Upazila branch of Nilphamari on the occasion of the holy month of Ramadan. The program was organized at Dimla Technical and B.M.I. Hallroom on Wednesday (March 11) afternoon.
The program was presided over by Dimla Upazila Zia Parishad Convener Principal Abdul Kader. Nilphamari District BNP Convener Committee Advisor Professor Raisul Alam Chowdhury was present as the chief guest. Former Upazila BNP President Principal Monowar Hossain, former Senior Vice President Ariful Islam Liton, former Organizing Secretary Golam Rabbani Prodhan and Dimla Sadar Union BNP President Jahangir Alam Dear were present as special guests. The program was moderated by Zia Parishad Member Secretary Principal Md. Aftab Hossain. At this time, the joint conveners of the Zia Parishad Upazila Committee, leaders of the Union Committee, local dignitaries, political leaders, representatives of social organizations and people from different classes and professions were present.
Special prayers were offered at the gathering, seeking peace, prosperity and welfare of the country, nation and Muslim Ummah. The organizers said that this prayer and iftar gathering has been organized to highlight the significance of the holy Ramadan and to awaken the sense of brotherhood among everyone. The speakers said that the month of Ramadan teaches self-purification, restraint and humanity. They called on everyone to work together to maintain peace and harmony in the society.
