A preparatory meeting was held in Dimla Upazila of Nilphamari district on the occasion of the upcoming
March 25 Genocide Day and March 26 Great Independence and National Day-2026 celebrations. The meeting was organized by the Upazila administration on Thursday, March 12 at the Upazila Parishad Hallroom.

The meeting was presided over by Upazila Executive Officer Imranuzzaman. Assistant Commissioner (Land) Rawshan Kabir, Upazila Agriculture Officer Mir Hasan Al Banna were present in the meeting.

Also present were Nilphamari District BNP Convening Committee Advisor Raisul Alam Chowdhury, former Upazila BNP President Principal Monowar Hossain, former Upazila BNP Senior President Ariful Islam Liton,

Upazila Jamaat Ameer Professor Maulana Mujibur Rahman, former Upazila BNP Organizing Secretary Golam Rabbani Pradhan, Upazila Freedom Fighter Commander, officials from various government departments, public representatives, representatives of educational institutions, media workers and local dignitaries.

The meeting decided on various programs to observe the Genocide Day on March 25 with due dignity. In addition, detailed discussions were held on the occasion of the celebration of the great independence and national day on March 26. At this time, it was decided to hoist the national flag, pray in memory of the martyrs, hold discussion meetings and various programs on the occasion of the two days. The speakers in the meeting said that the days will be celebrated with due dignity to present the history of the great independence to the new generation and to remember the sacrifices of the martyrs.
