অন্যদিকে, Lieutenant General Joel B Vowell-এর সঙ্গে বৈঠকে দুই দেশের সেনাবাহিনীর মধ্যে সহযোগিতা ও তথ্য বিনিময় বৃদ্ধির বিষয়ে আলোচনা হয়। এ সময় দুর্যোগ মোকাবিলা প্রস্তুতি জোরদারে Disaster Response Exercise and Exchange (DREE) আয়োজন, Bangladesh Institute of Peace Support Operation Training (BIPSOT)-এ Global Peace Operations Initiative (GPOI)-এর অর্থায়নে প্রশিক্ষণ কোর্স চালু এবং বাংলাদেশের National Defence College (NDC) ও Defence Services Command and Staff College (DSCSC)-এ যুক্তরাষ্ট্রের প্রশিক্ষণার্থীদের অংশগ্রহণ বৃদ্ধির বিষয়ে আলোচনা করা হয়।
Chief of Army Staff Holds Bilateral Meetings with Senior Army Officials of Australia and the United States
Dhaka, 6 October 2026 (Tuesday): Chief of Army Staff of Bangladesh Army General Waqar-Uz-Zaman, SBP, OSP, SGP, psc, held separate bilateral meetings with Chief of the Australian Army Lieutenant General Susan Coyle, AM, CSC, DSM, and Deputy Commanding General of the United States Army Pacific (USARPAC) Lieutenant General Joel B Vowell on 5 October 2026, while attending the Land Forces International Land Defence Exposition and Chief of Army Symposium 2026 in Perth, Australia.
In his meeting with Chief of the Australian Army Lieutenant General Susan Coyle, AM, CSC, DSM, discussions focused on mutual military cooperation, training, capability development, and welfare initiatives. The Australian Army Chief commended the modernization efforts of the Bangladesh Army, while both sides emphasized further expanding training, exchange of experiences, and mutual cooperation.
In a separate meeting with Lieutenant General Joel B Vowell, discussions focused on enhancing cooperation and information sharing between the two armies. The meeting also covered the conduct of the Disaster Response Exercise and Exchange (DREE) to strengthen disaster response preparedness, the introduction of training courses at the Bangladesh Institute of Peace Support Operation Training (BIPSOT) with funding from the Global Peace Operations Initiative (GPOI), and increased participation of US military personnel in courses at the National Defence College (NDC) and Defence Services Command and Staff College (DSCSC) in Bangladesh.
